Traveling  to Panama city beach and want to take the pooch? Here is some info and tips

1) The Gulf Highlands Beach Resort does allow pets.  Each unit is restricted to having 2 pets with a maximum weight of 25lbs each.

2) Fenced dog park and play area – Frank Brown Park, 17710 Back Beach Rd. This is Panama City’s Parks & Recreation Center. An amazing facility with pools, fields, tennis courts, etc. It features a pretty decent sized dog play area with covered people seating, water, and toys.

3) Dog Beach and Pier Park – Just 3 miles up the road, to Front Beach Road, is Pier Park. It’s basically a huge shopping mall facing the beach. However, there is plenty of free parking and on the west side of the pier is a “dog beach.” You can take the dog swimming, sand castle building, etc. It’s a small beach, but better than no dogs on the beach! The restaurant on the pier, Hook’d, allows dogs on the patio as well! They even provide biscuits and water in a doggie plate.

4) 22 miles of walking trails – Conservation Park – 100 CONSERVATION DRIVE PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA. Only 1 mile from Gulf Highlands. Another Parks & Rec facility, well maintained trails, dogs allowed. I would take mosquito spray just in case. You can also take a bike if your dog can go along with the bike on the trail on a leash.
